Dr. Alex Freitas: Biographical Details

Dr. Alex Freitas is a Reader in Computational Intelligence at the University of Kent, UK. He has (co)-authored three research-oriented books on data mining, and has published more than 130 refereed papers in journals and conference proceedings. Most of these papers were on data mining, and more recently on applications of data mining to biological data. He is a member of the editorial board of four international journals, and has been a member of the programme committee of about 60 conferences or workshops. His current research interests are data mining and knowledge discovery, biologically-inspired algorithms, bioinformatics and the biology of ageing.
