Ian Knopke: AbstractThe BBC makes use of recommendation technology in a number of areas. These efforts are closely tied with current BBC initiatives to personalise much of the BBC online experience, an enterprise that requires special care in the case of a public broadcaster. This talk discusses aspects of recommendation systems currently in use at the BBC and the role of data mining and audience research, as well as some upcoming systems that are currently being trialed.
